I still remember the first Game Boy, with the gray color and yellow screen with the famous game “Tetris”.  But now the Game Boy has also evolved during the years; after the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, then Game Boy Advance, then GameBoy SP and finally Nintendo Dual Screen (DS).

At first the DS didn’t catch my attention, because of the dual screen, it was something I really didn’t like. Just two months ago I decided to buy one for my wife, so I went I bought one. I started playing some games and before I knew it I was hooked to the DS, that dual screen that I hated, I was starting to love it. One of the best thing it has, is the great amount of games they have available and they keep coming up like crazy. Go to a store and you see most of shelves with Nintendo DS games.  As you can see the Nintendo DS is very popular in the handheld and gaming industries, especially very popular among the kids.

How? Obwohl es eigentlich dasselbe Spiel wie die vor kurzem erschienenen Pokémon — Rote Edition und Pokémon — Blaue Edition ist, bietet Pokémon — Gelbe Edition mit der Pikachu Sonderausgabe Verbesserungen, die es zur besten aller Versionen macht. In allen drei Versionen versucht der Spieler, der beste Pokémon-Trainer der Welt zu werden. Erforschung und Pokémon-Kämpfe (man denke hier an eine fortgeschrittene Art von Schere-Stein-Papier) machen dabei einen Großteil des Spiels aus. Während die Spielwelt in allen drei Versionen identisch ist, sind die Pokémon, denen Sie begegnen, von Version zu Version unterschiedlich; das eigentliche Ziel, nämlich alle 151 Pokémon zu sammeln, kann nur erreicht werden, wenn Sie Pokémon mit Spielern anderer Versionen über das Link-Kabel tauschen. (Spieler können auch über Link-Kabel gegeneinander kämpfen).

Pokémon — Gelbe Edition lehnt sich stärker als die andern Editionen an die TV-Zeichentrickserie an. In der gelben Edition ist Ihr erstes Pokémon Pikachu, der auch mit Ihnen zusammen reist, anstatt wie die anderen Pokémon in einem Pokéball zu verweilen. Mit Pikachus Gemütszustand ist es wie mit anderen virtuellen Haustieren: Es ist wichtig, ihn glücklich zu halten, da seine Stimmung bestimmte Ereignisse im Spiel beeinflusst. Zusätzlich zu anderen Elementen der Fernsehserie, wie das Team Rocket, stehen neue Optionen für Kämpfe zwischen Spielern sowie ein verstecktes Spiel namens “Pikachus Strand” zur Verfügung. Wenn Sie bisher noch nie ein Pokémon-Spiel in der Hand hatten, sind Sie mit Pokémon — Gelbe Edition am besten bedient. Doch während Pokémon-Fanatiker von den neuen Features dieser Edition begeistert sein werden, werden weniger begeisterte Veteranen der roten und blauen Edition wahrscheinlich die Extras für nicht so besonders halten. –Joe Hon
